Adding a proxy to the Proxy Manager is just the beginning of managing your proxies. To save bandwidth and speed up your network, you need to set up local port forwarding.
Why you have to forward proxy in IPFighter?
Here's an example: you log in your IPFighter account on PC and you want to use proxy on your phone. If you set up proxy directly on your phone, you cannot save bandwidth or using any features of IPFighter on your phone.
However, forwarding proxy allows you to "forward" the proxy on a PC to a mobile through local network. Therefore, your phone can using any features available in IPFighter.
To add the forward port, click on "Add Forward Proxy" in the Forward Proxy section.
There are 2 options for adding forward port:
Option 1: Add proxy from Proxy Manager
First, click to the symbol of Proxy Manager.
Next, choose proxies from list and click "Forward Port".
Option 2: Add a new proxy list
First, choose connection type of proxy and fill in the proxy information in the box and click "Save". You can also add these new proxies to your Proxy Manager.
After adding proxy, you can edit the port of each proxy.
After you add Forward Proxy, Proxies will appear on the screen with column Action on the right.
After add proxies to Forward Proxy list, you must start the proxy before "forward" it networks to other devices.
You can run a single forward proxy or multiple forward proxies at the same time. Select the proxies you want to run and click the Start proxies in the top left corner.
Place cursor next to the proxy you want and click button copy Local IP.
Local IP is used to connect with browsers on the same device. LAN IP is used to connect with other deviced (another computer, smartphone, tablet,...)
Configure on another app or device. Follow the instruction in How to setup Proxies.
Secondary proxies are added when you want a backup proxy. This means you can use two proxies at the same time. You can set rules to choose which proxy to use for different websites while you're browsing.
After you forward proxy successfully, this proxy will automatically become Primary Proxy.
Why you should use Secondary Proxy?
With Secondary Proxy setting, you can set which website will use primary and which website will use secondary proxy.
Click on the three-dot icon and select Details.
Add secondary proxy information. The proxy format should be Host:Port:Username:Password
. You can also choose a proxy in Proxy Manager by click the blue icon next the new proxy line.
Custom allow list: Here you will set website for secondary proxy only.
You can also setting DNS for this Proxy only.
If you have a primary proxy at 127.0.0.1:1008
and add a secondary proxy at 207.148.72.116:3000
with an allow list for *paypal.com, all traffic to *paypal.com (including subdomains) will route through the secondary proxy207.148.72.116:3000
instead of the primary one.
Every 60 seconds, IPFighter will check the current proxy's IP address to keep a record of any changes in history. To see IP Change history of an Proxy:
Click on the three-dot icon.
Click Details.
IP Change hisstory will appear on the right.
To change port of previously added Forwarding Proxy:
Click on the three-dot icon.
Choose Change port.
Select another port or type the port number you want.
Click Change to save.
Choose proxies you want.
Click symbol copy to copy in bulk.
Click symbol delete to delete in bulk.
Once a proxy is deleted, it cannot be restored.
You can set which information appears on main screen. There are 7 informations you can select:
Proxy Address
Type
Local IP
Lan IP
Country
City
Status
Note
Click symbol of display settings.
Choose the info you need to be shown.
By following a few easy steps to add a forward port, you can use the proxy more efficiently. The usage dashboard will keep updating to show how much bandwidth you’re saving, and it can be a lot!
